Never before has the welfare of employees been more important for employers – or Boards.

Not only have many franchisees been caught out on payment breeches, but there is an increasing propensity for staff who are not respected, or worse – abused; mentally, physically or financially, to seek redress – publicly or through the courts.

Happy staff, who are in a happy place produce the best results

Buzzwords: Compliance, Payroll, Reporting

**With special guest panellist John Sheppard – ATO Assistant Commissioner**

Aiming to demystify payroll compliance & legislative change, this session will unpack the biggest compliance issue the Franchise sector will face in 2018/19 – Single Touch Payroll reporting (STP). MYOB has worked directly with the ATO to develop and roll out STP reporting so there is no-one better placed to deliver the nuts and bolts of how this will impact the franchise sector, and how your Franchisees can prepare themselves to successfully make the transition to the new reporting process.

For some Franchise systems this meant being ATO compliant by July 1st 2018, but from July 1st 2019 every Franchise system who pays even one employee will be impacted and the ATO believes 70% businesses won’t be ready for this major change to the way businesses report payroll.

To ensure that you and you franchisees are ready, this session will take you through some insights from the first wave of STP reporting adopters and arm you with the knowledge to make payroll compliance easy and a success for your business.

The one galvanizing metric and concept that franchisors and franchisees can unite behind is what is known as Brand Value. But what exactly is Brand Value, how is it measured, and what can franchise brands do to drive it forward? And why should this be the central focus for franchised organizations?

To study the value of an organization is the study of the value being created for each of the organizations stakeholders: customers, franchisor shareholders, franchisees, team members, and vendor partners. The higher the value created for each stakeholder, the more valuable the brand becomes; the more valuable the brand becomes the more equity value for franchisees and the franchisor. Focusing on Brand Value creates a balanced effort to win in each key areas of the business. The healthier the results, the higher the value. The higher the value in each area, the higher the Brand Value.

Dustin Hansen unlocks what it takes to explode an organizations Brand Value and deliver the type of results that many brands only dream about.

Developing innovation that serves a higher purpose

To build a great social sector organisation, you need much more strategic rigour and determination than your average business corporation.  That’s why so many of them limp along with a charity mindset, living hand to mouth and never able to achieve enough scale or have enough impact.

What does it take to become a truly great non profit business?  Like most great businesses, the right people in the right jobs, with a mentality of enlightened self interest and an indomitable will, plus a great brand, are all critical.  Mostly, you need to turn good intentions and passion into a roadmap and know what levers to pull and what matters most because you literally have nothing to lose.

Amy Smith explores what it takes to create an organisation that can achieve its purpose with passion and deliver great performance in the non profit sector.
